That's right. I'm the WIP.
It was time. I gave my two weeks notice and gave up my steady paycheck and reliable health benefits.
It's time to get back to arts and crafts.
I know I love to create tangible objects with my hands, but I wasn't getting to do any of that at my desk job. I frequently found myself longing for my first job after college where I worked at a small community art school and led crafty birthday parties and kids' craft camps.
My job title was "The Birthday Queen." I kid you not. It was a perfect fit for my interests, but I made very little money.
Ultimately I relocated to find respectable employment and to find myself nearer to the would-be Mr. Phone.
So prepare yourselves for the onslaught of craftiness folks. I'm going to make a serious go of this, and you're welcome to be part of the fun!
Congratulations! You should be so proud of yourself for taking this leap of faith. I am looking forward to the adventure :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I quit my busy job last year to do my crafting too (and also to live in the same city as my husband). After a year of some ups and downs, I'm starting to figure out a system I'm pretty excited about.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
jealous! I've been doing my sciencey lab/desk job for 3 years now since college. I love it, most of the time. but it's ten hours a day that I spend not being able to create. I sometimes long to move west to some artsy city where I can live in a loft and make a living being artistic. Glad you're taking the plunge! Hope it works out for you :D
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the site, I found a lot of useful information for us.
